To briefly update you.... WE ARE UNDER CONTRACT ON OUR HOME! It is an incredibly beautiful home in a gated subdivision complete with a pool, huge playground, and even a lake and HORSE STABLES! We struck gold. It is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bath home that was built in 2004 and is in a cul de sac. There are huge trees surrounding the home that is also surrounded by the bayou. It happens to fall in the middle of the 3rd best school district in the state of Louisiana, too! WHOO HOO for re-sell potential!
After last weekend when the other offer on both the car and the previous house fell through, we were extremely frustrated. But God is so good and so faithful - and He desires to GIVE us the desires of our hearts. Because we were patient and faithful, he blessed us with a beautiful home that is currently owned by another small, young Christian family with who we are quickly becoming friends.
We had the inspection last night that lasted 5 hours - the home got a clean bill of health but the guy was extremely thorough. We felt really bad for the family in the home now! He wasn't done till around 10:30 so Dan got home late too since he did the inspection with the guy. We are getting our loan in order and it seems as though this closing process is on the fast track. It is literally move in ready (minus some painting we want to do) and our stuff is scheduled to arrive sometime in the 2nd week of August. But, we have to move out of billeting the first of August so that will be frustrating if the house isn't ready to move into... Oh well, I will worry about that later.
My mom is coming over to take over "Noah care" until we are moved in and settled. It has been TOUGH having a toddler underfoot while buying a car and buying a home. I don't recommend it at all! But, despite his tantrums and defiance, he's been a really sweet and good sport. I thought he was dropping one of his two naps but he surprised us yet again and continues to take a long nap first thing in the morning and again right after lunch. Last week was a fluke because of his I teeth coming in as well as a massive growth spurt that is quickly putting him into the 4T clothing range (not yet completely but almost there). Remember, he's 17 months old. This is crazy! But Dan's folks reassure me that Dan was always big like Noah and add my dad's 6'3 1/2" stature and size 14 shoes with Dan's and you have a big kid!
Here are some photos of our beautiful new car and home (not the complete home - I forgot to take photos of the front of it): http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=1515669008/a=36167378_36167378/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/. I have to go now because Dan's on the phone dealing with our loan and he just texted me that Noah was up from his nap. So I will finish this update later! But we got the most gorgeous 4 Runner that I was sooo wanting and we have won the contract on the home we wanted... God is so good. We are anxious to start finding a church this weekend and Dan starts his new job on Monday. So far life in Louisiana is more than we thought it would be. We really do love it here.
